One Mom’s Summer Staycation Guide
One local mom takes advantage of Summer Fridays and the leisurely pace of easygoing summer weekends. While many of the 8.5 million New Yorkers slip out of town to destinations out east and a flight away, some local families – like mom Ashley Seidman, her husband Doug and her 2-year-old daughter Scarlett – plan a staycation.
“It’s the best way to explore NYC – sunny days and no rush,” Ashley shares, with sheer relief. “We visit a few neighborhoods and stay active so that when we sit down to eat, Scarlett doesn’t use the restaurant as her playground.”
